Gateway, Omega Psi Phi Inc. Team up to host affordable health insurance signups

  Gateway Community Action Partnership, through its Head Start and Early Head Start programs and in collaboration with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Upsilon Alpha Chapter and in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Administration for Children and Families, will hold an affordable health insurance signup event on Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the All Wars Memorial Building, 1510 Adriatic Ave., Atlantic City.

 

  The event is free and open to the public and provide the opportunity to sign up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA).To sign up, participants must bring the following items for all members of their households: proof of citizenship/residency, proof of income, social security number, proof of address, photo ID and log-in information (user name, password and e-mail address) if you have enrolled or began the (ACA) enrollment process.

  In addition to Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s Upsilon Alpha Chapter and Gateway, community partners for the events include: Region II Head Start, the Administration for Children & Families, and Health Insurance Marketplace.

  “The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is pleased to partner again with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Region 2 Head Start Association and Head Start grantees, including the Gateway Community Action Partnership, during Open Enrollment Period #4 that began on November 1, 2016,” Joyce A. Thomas, Regional Administrator, ACF, said. 

  “Our collaboration during previous Open Enrollment Periods have been effective and we’re working to make this year’s efforts our most successful so far.  Together with our partners, ACF is committed to a robust outreach and enrollment strategy in New Jersey.”

  “We want to improve health outcomes for all New Jerseyans and getting health insurance coverage is an important step toward reaching that goal.  I encourage anyone who needs health insurance to enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1, 2017.  Open Enrollment will continue until January 31, 2017 and I want to urge anyone who might need coverage for 2017 to visit healthcare.gov to check out their options.”
