Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Head Start and Early Head programs, in conjunction with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Administration for Children and Families, will hold two affordable health insurance signup events on February 12.

One event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Greater Bridgeton Area Family Success Center, 155 Spruce St., Bridgeton. The other event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Atlantic City Police Athletic League/Atlantic City Youth Services/Recreation Department, 250 N. New York Ave., Atlantic City.

The events are free and open to the public and provide the opportunity to sign up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA).To sign up, participants must bring the following items for all members of their households: proof of citizenship/residency, proof of income, social security number, proof of address, photo ID and log-in information (user name, password and e-mail address) if you have enrolled or began the (ACA) enrollment process.

In addition to Gateway and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s Beta Iota Iota and Upsilon Alpha Chapters, community partners for the events include: Region II Head Start, the Administration for Children & Families, NJ Women, Infants & Children (WIC), Gateway’s Family Success Centers, Health Insurance Marketplace and the Atlantic City PAL.

“The Region II Head Start Association and Gateway Community Action Partnership, the Early Head Start and Head Start grantees are tremendous partners with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Administration for Children and Families (HHS/ACF).”   Joyce Thomas, Regional Administrator, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Region II, said.

“We are thrilled they have teamed up with the Omega Psi Phi’s Upsilon Alpha and Iota Iota Chapters and other community partners to host this Affordable Care Act health insurance enrollment opportunity. The ACA enrollment period ends on February 15 and this great event will help more people in New Jersey get health insurance coverage they need.”

“As a community action agency, we are about enlisting community partners in action to benefit our community,” Albert B. Kelly, CCAP, Gateway President & CEO, said. “These health insurance signup events are examples of our focus and mission in action.”
