Authored by Bonnie Eggenburg, Gateway Community Action Partnership's Vice President of Early Head Start and Head Start, the book chronicles the development and celebrates the opening of Atlantic City's newest Head Start Center. The book was unveiled May 23, 2017 at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Gateway Head Start Early Education Center at 1433 Bacharach Blvd. in Atlantic City.
The new 43,747-square-foot, $22 million, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, green facility will serve more than 300 children and their families. The project was funded by Super Storm Sandy Relief Funds through the oversight of the Administration for Children and Families’ Region II offices.
The new three-story center replaces five storm-damaged former Atlantic City Head Start centers. The building serves as a beacon of hope shining in Atlantic City's midtown.
